IRCC recently issued 3,000 invitations in healthcare occupations in latest express entry draw to apply for permanent residency in Canada through an Express Entry draw. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System, or CRS score, for this draw was 463.
This is the third draw held in the same week, preceded by draws on November 19 targeting the Canadian Experience Class and November 18 for Provincial Nominee Program candidates.
Consecutive Weeks of Express Entry Draws
Two consecutive weeks of Express Entry draws have been held. Last week, IRCC issued 1,933 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates under CEC, PNP, and French-language proficiency categories. The new Immigration Levels Plan by IRCC has imposed increased federal immigration targets on the Express Entry system for the coming year. The department seeks to welcome 124,680 candidates through the Express Entry system in the year 2024.
Among them, more than 82,000 places will go to the new “In-Canada Focus” category. This category will place a greater emphasis on the Canadian Experience Class but could also include FSWP applicants, FSTP applicants, and PNP-aligned Express Entry streams.
The remaining 41,700 admissions will be allocated under the “Federal Economic Priorities” category. This stream will focus on applicants with experience in demand occupations that meet labor market needs in Canada.
